We have seen the Volkswagen Robust prototype with temporary body panels. Here are the images of the Pickup Concept VW will present at the 62nd IAA Commercial Show end of this week.
Most likely it will be called Robust or Taro as speculated earlier. Looking at the concept we believe the final production model will not change much from what you can see on the images below.
Production of the 1 ton pickup truck will begin in the beginning of 2009 at VW’s plant in Argentina. Sales in South America, South Africa, Australia and Europe will start soon after. Most likely US sales will follow soon. Even though pickup truck sales are down we think it can sell quit well with VW’s fuel efficient diesels.
