Volkswagen NILS Concept is a single-seat electric vehicle made for urban mobility, that will make its world debut next week at the Frankfurt Auto Show. Power comes from an electric motor with a nominal output of 20 horsepower and a short-term peak output of 34 horsepower.
The car has the same basic layout as a Formula One car, the single seat is centrally mounted and it has open wheels, though the specs are closer to a motorbike.
The NILS is 3.04 meters long, 1.2 meters tall, and just 0.39 meters wide. It features an aluminum space-frame and it has winged doors.The car has atotal curb weight of just 460 kg and can achieve a top speed of 130 km/h (80 mph) which it reaches in less than 11 seconds.
Range from a full charge is up to 65 km (40 miles) and the 5.3 kWh battery-pack can be charged in two hours from a 230 V outlet.
