Vermot AG has announced that its small staff of 15 employees will start the production of the ultra rare Veritas RS III.
Production is limited to just 30 cars and it is priced around $500,000 plus all the taxes. According to Vermot AG they have already sold five cars, eight more are reserved and over 100 enquiries have been received. First deliveries will start in early 2010.
Every single vehicle will undergo sophisticated hand production. The production of one of the classic 1+1-seaters – with a covered passenger seat that can be opened if required – takes eight weeks, although three cars are built in parallel at one time.
Power comes from a BMW sourced 5.0-liter V10 producing 507 horsepower. 0 to 100 km/h comes in under 3.2 seconds and the top speed is 347 km/h. Customers can choose between a SMG transmission or manual 6-speed transmission.
The complete bodywork comprises an ultra-light carbon racing skin and is produced in a Formula I forge. In addition to the 4-point H-type seatbelts, a tube frame developed by the Vermot AG engineers guarantees occupants the highest level of passive safety on their modified Recaro full bucket seats.
