Tramontana R Edition unveiled ahead of Geneva debut

Tramontana Group which is based in Catalonia has unveiled first details about its latest version, the Tramontana R Edition.

According to the company new model is a result of a logical evolution of the previous one. Engineers have reduced the weight of the car by 92 kg to 1,248 kg ( 2751 lbs)

This was a challenge as the previous version already had a lightweight body and chassis made of carbon fiber.

Weight distribution is 42% front, 58% rear, 50% right and 50% left. New and improved chassis reduces the wheelbase 50 mm and improves handling and aerodynamic performance. On the tracks this means better cornering speed.

R Edition packs a 5.5-liter Mercedes V12, that comes with 550 hp and 760 hp when turbocharged. 0-100 km/h takes 3.6 seconds and 0-200 km/h 10.15 seconds.

Tramontana Group will build only 12 units per year with prices starting at 385,000 euros ($495,000).

More details about the R Edition will be revealed next week in Geneva.
