It is desperate times for GM and Ford. GM even canceled the plans to unveil the new Buick LaCrosse and the production version of the Cadillac CTS Coupe at this years Los Angeles Auto Show. GM also canceled their press conference.

Toyota on the other hand is doing a lot better. Surely they have problems as well, but they still have enough cash for stormy days.

Looks like they have enough cash and resources as they are introducing a new hybrid technology: a natural gas hybrid.

CNG Camry Hybrid is a concept and a technological study. Currently Toyota has no plans for production. CNG Camry Hybrid has a range of 400 km (250 miles) and it emits very low levels of emission gases. The car is less powerful than gasoline or diesel versions as the natural gas is less dense.

CNG Camry Hybrid is on display at the Los Angeles Auto Show from today.

  • GoAutoCraze says:

Toyota has tried to sell CNG vehicles previously. In 1999 the company marketed a CNG-powered four-cylinder Camry to fleet customers in California. However, in an era of relatively cheap gasoline, customers were not attracted to a vehicle that required special refueling techniques and a limited refueling infrastructure and the program was discontinued a year later.
