Toyota has released first details about an all electric FT-EV II concept that is an evolution of the first FT-EV, which was shown two years ago at the Tokyo Motor Show.
This small urban electric vehicle has a range of 90 kilometers (56 miles) from a single charge. This should be plenty for most people who commute in the urban traffic.
FT-EV II is not just for city traffic, in case you need to do some driving on the highway it can go as fast as 100 km/h (62 mph). That should be enough in most countries if you stay on the slow lane.
Compared to the first FT-EV it has a shorter nose and a flatter windshield. Interior design is very futuristic with no foot peals and steering wheel.
The console incorporates communications functions to achieve a more seamless link with information, expressing the new vehicle concept of the electric vehicle as an information device.
FT-EV II can connect with services that go beyond car navigation, such as recommending information tailored to the individual’s preferences and downloading music and movie content. FT-EV II also acts like an information device as it can be connected to home networks to play saved data.
According to Toyota this futuristic concept car focuses on the relationship between cars, people and society of the future.
