Gumpert Apollo is not the best looking supercar. Its wing doors, huge air intakes, huge rear spoiler and very raw design is not compelling to everyone, but with 650 hp and 850 Nm it offers excellent performance. Now three years later the 40th Apollo has rolled out of the factory. That is a very small number and makes the Apollo very unique.
As all the Apollo’s are gathered around the world then chances seeing on are very small. Try Monaco, some oil rich country or SEMA if you want to see it live.
Roland Gumpert and his 45-man team are very optimistic and hope to deliver 25 cars next year. They delivered 40 cars in three years and now when the economy is in recession hope to deliver 25 in one year. Does not make much sense at first, but if they can find the right people it can be possible. Or perhaps they should change the design? Either way there are plenty of people around the world who spend millions on things that don’t make sense to most of us. So if you are a true gearhead and have too much money, then Apollo could be a nice addition to your current fleet of supercars.
Gumpert hopes to sell the cars globally and says he has people interested in buying its cars in Europe, the Middle East and the USA. Also they are looking to expand their distribution network towards Russia and the Asian region. Currently Apollo is offered only as a left-hand drive car. To enter the Asian and Australian market they will offer the Apollo as a right-hand car as well.
How fast is it? Apollo uses modified 4.2-liter twin turbo V8 form Audi that generates 650 hp. Top speed is 224 mph (360 km/h) and 0 to 62 mph (0-100 km/h) comes in just 3 seconds.
If you have at least 301,600 euros (plus taxes) you can join the exclusive group of people who already own the Gumpert Apollo.

I humbly beg to differ …
Who says it is not a good looking supercar? Unless I am mistaken, THIS is what a super car is meant to look like. The rest of them have turned into sissycars. Flowing lines? Come on. Show me brute strength and super power. For nearly half a million dollars, I want a car that looks like what it is … GRUNT. (By the way, Gumpert is actually German for “grunt”. I think.) Oh, God, I LOVE IT!
