Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla Motors, the rather popular electric sports car manufacture out of California, US, was on David Letterman last night to promote the new Tesla Model S sedan.
Letterman is a big car guy, most notably having his name on the Rahal Letterman Racing team that puts a BMW M3 GTR in Le Mans Series and other racing series.
David Letterman is also big into politics. A supporter of Barack Obama and a very vocal critic against George W. Bush.
Last night it was Elon Musk and David Letterman talking about what should have happened in the auto industry roughly a hundred years ago so that we could be at a more automotively environmentally friendly way. Okay, can we get over it already? While I agree that if the auto companies had been more responsible decades ago, they and we wouldn’t be where we are today. But, let’s get over it already. Dave is an older man, he should know that whining about what should have been done doesn’t get you anywhere. Who’s with me?
Well, to lay that point aside, it was certainly an interesting interview. Letterman, unfortunately battling some sort of throat issue, and talking like a 13 year old boy going through puberty, was his usual self. He basically bashed GM’s Chevy Volt and did his usual to pretend like he had no “agenda” with what he was doing, even though we all know that’s not true.
Have fun watching the video. It was entertaining, to say the least. I just wish that Letterman would have shut up and let Musk make his final point. You’ll see what I mean.
