Volkswagen Robust Pickup spotted in Germany

Volkswagen Robust Pickup During the cold snowy winter we saw the upcoming VW Pickup prototype on test drives in Sweden. Now near production ready model with alloy wheels and less camouflage has been spotted in Germany.

Code-named Robust, it will be produced in Pacheco, Argentina - not in Hannover, Germany as originally planned.

Video: Volkswagen Pickup Concept

VW introduced the Pickup Concept at this year’s IAA back in September. When the concept enters the production it will go on sale in Europe, Australia and South Africa. Production will start beginning of next year in Argentina. This 1 ton pickup will be first offered most likely only with a turbodiesel engine.

Now VW has released a “Baywatch” styled promotional trailer, where two lifeguards are saving the female kite surfer. Wonder where is the Hoff and rest of the Baywatch crew? They would have done it so much better:)

2010 Volkswagen Robust Rendering by Jorge L. Fernández

VW Robust Rendering In May we brought you spy pictures of the mid-sized pickup truck Volkswagen Robust. Robust will be launched at the end of 2009 as a 2010 model. It will be produced in Argentina with sales targeted to South America and South Africa. It is not known yet will the Robust make it to the Nort America and Europe. Rumor is that high end version is under consideration for European market.
