Video: 2010 Dodge Viper ACR record lap at Laguna Seca

Until just few days ago lap record at the Laguna Seca race circuit belonged to Devon GTX(time of 1:35.075). Now there is a new record holder - 2010 Dodge Viper ACR has managed to lap the famous race track in 1:33.944.

2010 Dodge Viper ACR will be shown to the public next week at the LA Auto Show. In the heart of this beast is a 8.4-liter V10 engine with 600 horsepower and 560 lb.-ft. of torque.

What if Dodge Viper had been designed in the 1960s?

Brazilian car and product designer Rafael Reston has created interesting renderings of a Dodge Viper if it had been designed in the 1960s.

Rafael says that the 1967 Dodge Viper Concept came from the idea of how the car would had been if it had appeared in the 60’s to compete with the Corvette of the time.

Chrysler LLC considers selling the Viper

GM is trying to sell the Hummer brand. Now Chrysler is planning to sell the Dodge Viper business. The sale would include Viper not other Dodge models. Dodge Viper is a modern American muscle car icon. Viper is a V10-powered sports car currently manufactured by the Dodge division of Chrysler LLC.

Production of the two seat sports car began at New Mack Assembly in 1992 and moved to its current home at Conner Avenue Assembly in October 1995.

Lotus Cars and Sony Entertainment celebrate release of Gran Tourismo 5 Prologue

The eagerly anticipated ‘Gran Turismo 5 Prologue™’ for PlayStation®3 was released by Sony Computer Entertainment UK at a recent launch event in London’s Marble Arch and was supported by Lotus Cars who has two versions of the iconic Elise in the game.

One of the capital’s largest underground car parks was transformed into the GT5 Pit Lane which boasted some of the stars of the game which is heralded as one of the most realistic to date. Alongside the legendary 1996 Lotus Elise and the now iconic 2004 Elise 111R, other heroes of the game turned out to support the event including Audi R8, Aston Martin DB9, Corvette Z06, Dodge Viper SRT10, Ford GT, TVR Tuscan Speed 6, Ford GT and a Ferrari 599.

2008 Neiman Marcus Special Edition Hennessey Venom 700NM

Neiman Marcus Direct announced that it is partnering with Hennessey Performance Engineering to introduce the 2008 Neiman Marcus Special Edition Hennessey Venom 700NM.
The 2008 Special Edition Hennessey Venom will be featured in the spring Neiman Marcus Men’s Catalog and will retail for $179.500.

Dodge celebrates its 25,000th Viper

Chrysler LLC announced that it will celebrate the production of its 25,000th Dodge Viper at the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant on Wednesday, March 12, 2008. As part of the celebrations, the carmaker will award a 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10 to NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Kurt Busch for recognition of his racing accomplishments as the top Dodge driver in 2007.
