Top Gear names Toyota Prius as its “City Car of the Year”

Top Gear trio is not much into green cars, except maybe James May. So this comes as a little surprise. Toyota announces that Top Gear has chosen the Prius as their City Car of the Year.
Announced in the special awards issue magazine on now sale, Top Gear praised the technology of the new Prius and the “awesome numbers” of 72.4mpg and 89g/km for “a proper family five-door hatch”.

Track-only Ferrari FXX is the fastest car on Top Gear test track, that is officially known as the the Dunsfold aerodrome circuit.
This £1 million supercar was driven by Michael Scumacher last season when he was disguised as The Stig.
His time was an amazing 1 min and 10.7 sec. Now according to Ultima, they have beaten this time with their 720 horsepower GTR720.

Just like Top Gear and all his previous DVDs it is all about powerful cars and challenges they are going to face.
Like which car makes the most smoke while going sideways - a Lamborghini Murcielago SuperVeloce or a Vauxhall VXR8 Bathurst S? Best at drifting? - the Jaguar XKR, the Lotus Evora, Audi’s R8 V10 or BMW’s M3?
From Top Gear there is also The Stig who tries to drift wearing wellies.
Top Gear returning in June
Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond are back for a 13th series coming in June. The same guys who bring us all of our favorite automotive antics and the best auto drama ever to see the light of television.
Better known to us as Clarkson, Captain Slow and Hamster, are coming back to share their unique blend of comedy, entertainment and very informative knowledge once again.
Top Gear test driver The Stig is Ben Collins?
There have been numerous speculations about who is The Stig. Some have speculated that it is Julian Bailey, Damon Hill, Tim Schrick or Russ Swift. One thing is sure that the man in Stig’s white suit has changed over the years.
The first Stig, stunt driver Perry McCarthy, lost the job after outing himself in his book Flat Out, Flat Broke, published in 2002.

Clarkson’s car of the year revealed!
It’s that time of the year again when it snows, the bells jingle and Clarkson speaks out! BBC Top Gear anchor, Jeremy Clarkson made a list of all the cars he felt were worthy to be tagged with the label, the ‘car of the year’ right from the gorgeous and ridiculously expensive Rolls Royce Phantom Drop Head to the adorably cuddly Fiat 500.
Cars like the BMW X6, the Chrysler Sebring Convertible and the Kia Sedona people carrier didn’t go down too well with Clarkson for various reasons. Even the Audi RS6 found its way into his bad books for being thoroughly ‘impractical’ and the drawbacks one would face in real life.
Top Gear Season 12 trailer released
This year there is four Top Gear shows. In addition to the original Top Gear, there is Russian, Australian and U.S. version.
The original Top Gear will start with season 12 on November 2nd. BBC has released a short video teaser, that shows us Hammond, Clarkson and May playing around with new supercars and other toys. In addition to cars, this magic trio also tests/plays around with big trucks, double-decker bus and a speedboat. Surely there is a lot more coming this season than showed in this teaser commercial, so stay tuned and get ready for the new season in a few weeks.
Legendary Top Gear will get a local version in Russia
Top Gear is shown in more than a hundred countries. It is one of the most popular TV shows and is most likely one of the most downloaded TV shows in the world.
In addition to the “original” Top Gear there are local versions currently in USA and Australia. Now Russia will get their own local version.
Agreement has been signed by REN TV and BBC Worldwide. No information who will be the trio running the show as the casting is still underway.

How fast is the Nissan GT-R on Top Gear’s test track?
We have been waiting for this a long time. Now finally we can see how Stig drives the Nissan GT-R around Top Gear’s test track and what’s most important how it ranks among other supercars on their chart.
Watch the video below where Clarkson drives it first in Japan at the Fuji race circuit and then Stig shows us what kind of a car is it on Top Gear test track.
Top Gear Season 11: GT-R vs Bullet Train
Eleventh season of the Top Gear is out and Clarkson gets his hand on the long waited supercar from Japan. He just does not take it to the track, but he puts it to the test in a race against the worlds most efficient public transport - Japanese bullet train “the Shinkansen”.
May and Hamster will take the train to see if they can beat Clarkson to the final destination.
May and Hamster have problems communicating in Japan to get the tickets and to figure out the train system. At the same time Clarkson is trying to figure out the buttons on the GT-R.
Top Gear USA hosts announced
Popular Top Gear will get its US version. At least pilot version to see how it all works out.
Here are the presenters for the show:
Adam Carolla who is an actor, radio and tv personality. He is most known for his radio show called The Adam Carolla Show and some of you have seen him in Crank Yankers, TV show that features real crank calls by celebrity guests which are then re-enacted on screen by puppets.
He has a very impressive garage: two classic Lamborghinis, Ferrari, Maseratis and an Audi S4.
Top Gear will have three Veyrons in one episode!
Over the last weekend Top Gear was filming one of their eposides for the new season in Abu Dhabi. In addition they were doing photo shoots in different locations. At first the producers were looking for one Veyron but were offered three! Surely you can’t find another place in the world, where you can find 3 Veyrons in 48 hours.
Owners asked to stay anonymous. By the way one of them(the aluminium one) was Veyron Pur Sang that only had a total production of FIVE.
Top Gear is going on a world tour
TV car show Top Gear is to be turned into a live event for a world tour that will visit 15 countries.
The BBC Two show’s presenters Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond are expected to sign up for the British leg of the Top Gear Live tour.
BBC Worldwide said the live shows would “incorporate the drama of film and theatre with the thrills and spills of stunts and special effects”.

Here’s a teaser from Jeremy Clarkson’s “Supercar Showdown” DVD which went on sale yesterday.
Clakrson takes some of the coolest supercars to the track including Ferrari’s 599 and F430, Lambo’s Gallardo Spyder and Murcielago, the Audi R8, Ascari’s A10, Porsche 911 GT3 and the Bugatti Veyron.
