Its a well known fact that car manufacturers test new models on public roads. In Europe most of the tests are done at the famous Nürburgring and during winter in Sweden. In the States, Death Valley is known for hot weather tests and Colorado for high altitude testing.

Taking spy photos has come a full time job for many people, and thanks to them we get to see future models sometimes years before the manufacturers officially introduce them.

Spy shots: Ferrari working on Dino or..?

Could it be that Ferrari is working on another small sports car in addition to the recently introduced 460 hp California?

At first it looks like 599 GTB, but as Bernhard pointed out it has a shortened wheelbase. It can be the California mule again, but why would Ferrari still have it driving around if the car has been introduced months ago already?

Perhaps there is another small Ferrari in works?

Reader pics: Rolls-Royce RR4 spotted in Sierra Nevada

We brought you first spy pictures of the Rolls-Royce RR4 / Baby Rolls back in August. This new Rolls is sharing its platform with the new 7-series. Our reader Adam Creed spotted this RR4 test mule on the A44 in Sierra Nevada and sent these pics to us so we can share them with you.

These new pictures reveal more of the front and what’s probably most interesting is that this prototype does not have the hinges on the rear like we saw on the prototype back in August.

2009 Mercedes-Benz CLK(E-Class Coupe) spotted with the current CLK

First time we saw the next generation CLK was in June. Last week we showed you first spy shots of the new CLK Cabrio. Today we have new spy shots with less camouflage of the new CLK together with the current CLK.

Yet bigger and yet a bit more elegant than the outgoing model, the new CLK (and CLK convertible likewise) will be based on the C-class saloon. It goes without saying, however, that refinement will be done to the chassis to meet expectations of the somewhat more ambitious coupé-drivers.

We have seen the new Z4 with its hard top in a closed position and also open position. Now we have new images of the new Z4 with less disguise including shots of the interior. New interior looks to be less minimalistic and much more functional than the current E85 generation’s.

The Z4’s twin-kidney grille takes inspiration from CS concept, as well as the new 7-series. The rear styling shows that the current Z4’s hump is gone. It is replaced with a rear deck similar to the one found on the 6-series.

Enjoy the new images!
