Geneva preview: SEAT Ibiza Sport Tourer

seat-ibiza-st-1Here’s another preview for the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. VW’s Spanish arm SEAT will show there an Ibiza ST as the third body style of the Ibiza range after the three- and five-door hatchback models.

SEAT will deliver the Ibiza ST in six modern engine variants and with a broad palette of equipment and technologies. Market launch is planned for early summer.

Seat announces Ibiza FR TDI, starts at £16,465

SEAT Ibiza FR TDINew addition to the Ibiza range is FR TDI, available in either sporty SC or 5 door bodystyles with prices starting at £16,465. Available to order now, deliveries of the Ibiza FR TDI will start in March.

Power comes from a 2.0-liter commonrail turbodiesel engine that produces 143 PS, taking the 3-door version from 0 to 62 mph in 8.2 seconds (8.3 seconds 5dr).

2010 Seat Leon Cupra R packs 265 hp

seat-leon-cupra-r-1Leon Cupra R is SEAT’s most powerful car in production. Its 2.0 TSI direct injection engine produces 265hp and 350 Nm of torque. 0 – 100km/h comes in 6.2 seconds while top speed is electronically limited to 250km/h.

Power is sent to front wheels via modified 6-speed manual gearbox with faster changes.

The Leon Cupra R is not just fast, but also fuel efficient. Average fuel consumption is just 8.1 litres per 100 km and C02 emissions are 190g/km.

SEAT Ibiza “25th anniversary” model will debut at the Barcelona Motor Show

“25th anniversary” IbizaSEAT’s most popular model Ibiza was first introduced in 1984 at the Paris Motor Show. It is 25 years old now and in its fourth generation.

To celebrate Ibiza’s birthday SEAT will introduce a “25th anniversary” model next month at the Barcelona International Motor Show.

Seat unveils new Ibiza FR and León CUPRA facelift

2009 Seat Ibiza FRSeat has revealed first details about the new Ibiza FR version and León CUPRA facelift. Little sporty Ibiza FR comes with a 1.4-liter twin charger 1.4 TSI engine that produces 150 horsepower.

This little powerful engine is mated to a seven-speed DSG gearbox with steering wheel shift pddles.

Seat teases with a 3D video rendering of the Exeo Sport Tourer

2009 Seat Exeo Sport TourerAt the upcoming Geneva Motor Show in March Seat will introduce the Exeo Sport Tourer. To make things interesting Seat has released a 3D video rendering of the 2009 Exeo Sport Tourer.

Just like the recently released Exeo sedan, the wagon version is based on the previous generation Audi A4.

Seat wants a part of it too - Bluesport based Salsa rendered

seat-salsa-rendering-by-theophilus-chin-1At first it seemed that one of the stars of NAIAS, VW’s lamely named Concept BlueSport, will go into production as a VW, Audi and a baby Porsche. What if the guys originating from the Iberian Peninsula get to have a go at it too?

Artist Theophilus Chin has kindly rendered a vision on Seat’s version of VW Concept BlueSport. It has all the Seat characteristics you could possibly want. It would be a quality product with a smaller price-tag, as is the Seat way in the VW group.

SEAT presents its electric car project to Spanish government

SEAT is quite a small Spanish company that belongs to Volkswagen and is not very well known outside Europe. They have a line-up consisting of 7 models, most of which are based on VW’s platforms except for the latest sedan Exeo, which in it’s turn is nothing else as a slightly-restyled previous-generation Audi A4 sedan.

This week SEAT presented their first hybrid model prototype named Leon Twin Drive Ecomotive.

2009 SEAT León Línea R

SEAT León range has been extended with the arrival of the Línea R version. There are two gasoline and one diesel engine available.

The first is the efficient 170 hp 2.0 TDI diesel, gasoline engines are a 160 hp 1.8 TSI and the 200 hp 2.0 TSI unit. 2.0 TSI comes with either a manual or DSG twin clutch automatic gearbox.

SEAT presents all new Exeo in Paris

SEAT presents for the first time the new Exeo to the international public. By this new sporty middle class limousine, the Spanish car manufacturer extends its model range, offering for the first time a limousine in the important B-segment. Basically Exeo is a re badged previous generation Audi A4. Considering the platform is seven years old it is not so new at all.

The new EXEO will be launched with three petrol-engines (from 75kW / 102 HP to 147 kW / 200 HP) and three common rail Diesel engines of latest generation (from 88 kW / 120 HP to 125 kW / 170 HP). Five of these six engines are turbo engines.

Seat Ibiza ECOMOTIVE, the most fuel-efficient vehicle in the Eco Tour 2008

Seat Ibiza ECOMOTIVEThe Seat Ibiza ECOMOTIVE achieved a major triumph in the 10th Eco Tour, a tough, fuel-efficient challenge driving cross-Europe that took place between 13th and 19th September. The Spanish brand’s vehicle not only finished first place in the “small diesel” class but was also the overall winner with average fuel consumption of 3.8l / 100km (61.9 mpg)

A total of 42 teams from 14 different countries – including participants from Spain, Germany, the Netherlands and Italy - took part in the Eco Tour 2008.

Spy shots: 2009 Seat Leon facelift

2009 Seat Leon faceliftFirst generation Seat Leon was introduced in 1999 and was replaced with the second one in 2005. Leon uses the Volkswagen A platform and shares other components with the Volkswagen Golf, Audi A3 and Škoda Octavia.

Current Leon has been on sale three years now and gets a first facelift with redesigned front and rear, new lights, bumpers.
