Owner crashes Lamborghini Murcielago in Russia, leaves the scene in a Bentley
Accidents involving supercars are not too common, but when they do happen people will talk about it.
This last supercar accident happened in the city of Stavropol, Russia where an owner of a yellow Lamborghini Murcielago lost control of his four month old car and crashed into the pole.
Spyker owner survives attempt on life
It is being reported that Russian banker, Alexander Antonov, the owner of Spyker Cars, was critically wounded after being shot in the stomach.
He has so far survived, along with his bodyguard who was also shot and wounded.
Russians build a hot-rod based on Soviet truck GAZ-51
If you have ever been to Russia(or any parts of former Soviet Union), then you likely have seen the GAZ-51 on country sides or even in the city traffic.
GAZ-51 is the longest produced Soviet truck. First prototypes were produced during World War II and the production finished in 1975. Now over 30 years later people still use them.
Russia gunning for third largest global market by 2012?
Frost & Sullivan predicts that by the end of 2009 the Russian automobile industry will be stable and lucrative once again. By 2012 Russia’s car market is even expected to be the third largest in the world, behind the US of A and China.
Millions of Russians are out of work, the oil situation is not sunny at all but nevertheless Frost & Sullivan predict a happy end to everything already in three years. Then comrade Putin and Mr. Medvedjev can point out that what regards the economic situation of Russia as a car market, it is now the third most powerful in the world.

First supercar made in Russia will be called Marussia
Yesterday in Moscow, former motor racer, musician and a TV host Nikolai Fomenko presented the first Russian (super)car Marussia.
This is most likely the stupidest name for a (super)car we have ever heard. Actually we are not too sure should it be called a supercar or another “Russian miracle” that looks promising to Russians but never makes it in the real world.

9ff and two Russian tuning companies are working on their version of the Panamera
First official images of the Porsche Panamera are out and looks like the tuning companies are already working on body kits for the four door Porsche. First one was the 9ff, that showed their design sketches already back in September.
Now according to cardesign.ru 9ff has teamed up with Russian companies Top Car and Cardi. Top Car is a design company and Cardi will be the one producing all the new body parts. What will 9ff do? Looks like 9ff will be the one working on performance. This sounds interesting as Panamera Turbo will have 500 hp in stock. Just imagine what the famous tuner 9ff will do to the engine! 600 hp, 700 hp… 900 hp?

Legendary Top Gear will get a local version in Russia
Top Gear is shown in more than a hundred countries. It is one of the most popular TV shows and is most likely one of the most downloaded TV shows in the world.
In addition to the “original” Top Gear there are local versions currently in USA and Australia. Now Russia will get their own local version.
Agreement has been signed by REN TV and BBC Worldwide. No information who will be the trio running the show as the casting is still underway.

Two door Lada SUV spotted in Russia!
Russians have never been very creative when it comes to making great cars. All they have done is copy others. Most their production models and concepts have been a joke.
Okay sure there are few models that looked great and still do, such as the Tšaika that former Soviet Union big shots drove. Even that car was partly copied, not original work of russians.
The Launch of Volga Siber Production
Russian Federation Prime Minister Vladimir Putin visited the car plant on the eve of the production start and took the new car on a test drvie. “It takes off fast and they’ve increased the clearance. It will be fine for our roads,” he said.
After seeing the main 300-metre conveyor belt, which utilises a modern overhead assembly line, the Prime Minister highlighted the quality control system which has been introduced at all stages of the car’s creation and production.

This can either happen in Russia or in some oil rich country where people have no idea what to do with their money.
According to Autoblog Netherlands this Porsche 911 (996) Cabriolet is covered with 40 pounds of gold plates.
