Porsche tuner RUF introduces the first SUV with electric powertrain

eruf-stormster-4Specialty car manufacturer and tuner RUF is the first company to introduce an electric SUV dubbed eRUF Stormster. Based on the Porsche Cayenne it uses a Siemens electric motor with 270 kW.

Weight of the car is 2,670 kg and it accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 10 seconds, top speed is 150 km/h and range from one charge is 200 km.

Ruf creates Dakara, based on Porsche Cayenne with 911-headlights

Ruf DakaraIn addition to the eRuf Greenster, Ruf has created a sporty SUV named Dakara based on the Porsche Cayenne.

What makes this modified Cayenne really stand out are the 911-headlights and broadened fenders. According to Ruf this should give it a sportier look.

eRuf Greenster, electric Porsche 911 with 362 horsepower

eRuf GreensterRUF Automobile GmbH has developed an all-electric eRUF Greenster with Siemens Corporate Technology. eRuf Greenster is powered by a small central electric motor with a power output of 270 kW (362 hp) and 950 Nm of torque.

Weight of the car is 1695 kg (3736 lbs).

Electric Porsche 911 by RUF

Just few weeks ago we reported that RUF is working on all electric Cayman.Now it seems that something has changed as they have introduced an all electric 911. No information yet what happened to the Cayman project. Most likely the German source confused the Cayman with 911.

Even though it is still a concept, we are sure it won’t stay the only electric 911, and more will follow.

Because Ruf installs many of their own-made parts, the company is recognized as a manufacturer by the German government.

Now this German supercar maker is working on something that is hard to believe, but considering all the latest trends was probably just a matter of time. Soon Ruf will be offering all electric Cayman. Yes that means Porsche Cayman gets electric and looses its boxer engine.
