Hardcore Cayman in the works by XTR Carchip
Even though there have been tons of rumors about a track oriented Cayman, there still isn’t such a car in Porsche’s model line-up.
Looks like German tuner XTR Carchip is about to change that. Based on the 2006 Porsche Cayman S, their project car features a very aggressive wide body kit with a huge rear spoiler.
Customized modification kits for the latest Boxster and Cayman
Porsche already offers model variants and options for its Boxter and Cayman cars. But TechArt is one of the leading aftermarket car tuners who offer customized modification kits so that you can personalize your car according to your taste.
Visual, aerodynamic and chasis modification kits are available in different variations. The Aerokit I includes a new front spoiler, side sills, rear spoiler and diffuser, with round exhaust tips in different finishes. The Aerokit II, meanwhile, upgrades with an Audi-style daytime running lamp (DRL) kit, while the TechArt’s Vario suspension drops the ride height by 30 mm, mounted to 19- and 20-inch wheels. You can also upgrade the interiors.
Porsche working on Cayman Clubsport, coming this October
According to Autocar, Porsche is working on the Cayman Clubsport that will go on sale in the UK this October.
Porsche is also considering a single-make racing series for the Cayman Clubsport, just like it already does with the 911.
Cayman Clubsport has a stripped-out interior, lightweight body panels, simplified electronics, lighter wheels, which all make the car 100 kg (220 lbs) lighter compared to the Cayman S.

Porsche Cayman facelift in the works?
The Porsche Cayman (type 987) was first introduced in 2005 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. What we have here is a Porsche Cayman test mule that has bigger wheel cases.
We are not sure is this a test mule for the next generation Cayman or just a facelift. Most likely a facelift as the current model has been on sale less than three years.
