Every time Porsche 911 comes out with a new model, there is great anticipation among Porsche aficionados. The latest prototype was caught on camera at the Nurburgring. Have a look at the images to get an idea of the changes the company has made.
Next generation 911 Cabrio hits the Nürburgring
Next generation 911 (998) Coupe was first seen on the Nürburgring last week. Today the convertible version of the next-generation 911 made it to the extreme Nürburgring.
On these new photos we can see that this prototype has a small spoiler above the rear window right below the canvas.

On Tuesday we saw the next-generation 911 prototype with a new rear window spoiler.
Now Porsche has taken this prototype with new body modifications to the extreme Nürburgring, to see how the car behaves on high speeds around the track.

Even though Porsche just introduced a facelifted 911 they have been working for a while on the next generation model. Last time we brought you photos of these prototypes were from snowy Sweden where Porsche had a whole fleet of 911(998) prototypes.
Now Porsche is back home and testing the next 911 in Germany.
eRuf Greenster, electric Porsche 911 with 362 horsepower
RUF Automobile GmbH has developed an all-electric eRUF Greenster with Siemens Corporate Technology. eRuf Greenster is powered by a small central electric motor with a power output of 270 kW (362 hp) and 950 Nm of torque.
Weight of the car is 1695 kg (3736 lbs).

Fantastic idea for underground parking
In an urban environment where gardens are small and driveways take lot of space, it is an ongoing problem how to design them so that the owner can be happy with the final result.
Here is a good idea from West London, UK where an owner combined the garden and parking space together. It looks like a top-secret underground parking at first, but surely is practical. No idea on the cost, but we have a feeling this custom made underground parking spot won’t be cheap.
2010 Porsche 911 GT3 revealed ahead of Geneva Motor Show (video added)
Facelifted 911 GT3 will make its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show. To keep things interesting Porsche has released all the details ahead of the show.
Exterior changes include a new rear spoiler, LED taillights, new bi-xenon headlights, revised air intakes and a new front spoiler than can be adjusted from the cockpit.
Porsche introduces new sports exhaust system for the 911 Carrera and Targa 4
Porsche engineers have developed a new sports exhaust system for the latest generation of the 911(997), available as an option on new models as of February 2009 in Europe and from April in the U.S.
With just a click of a button the system would switch over to a sporting and emotional sound generated in particular whenever the driver prefers a truly dynamic style of motoring.
SPI L4 700/750 Tiptronic package for Porsche 997 Turbo
A few weeks ago, the one-thousand horsepower bolt-on prepared Switzer SLEDGEHAMMER, by Ohio-based tuning firm Switzer Performance Innovation (SPI) made headlines.
SPI does have another less powerful package for 997 Turbo enthusiasts called L4 700/750 Tiptronic package. Surely it is not the 1000 hp SLEDGEHAMMER, but it is still extremely impressive.

2011 Porsche 911 (998) Coupe spied night testing in Sweden
In addition to the first spy shots of the next-generation 911 (998) Cabrio, we have also managed to get new shots of the 998 Coupe. As we have already told you don’t get confused by the fake rear lights and spoiler.
We like the way front lights are standing more upright and it seems that the body is a bit stretched giving it a bigger look compared to the current 911.
Record breaking mileage from Porsche’s 911 Carrera
Porsches have always known to be cars that are capable of breaking records. More often than not, the record broken has something to do with the top speed or the best acceleration times or outright power.
But this time a certain 911 Carrera has gone against all odds and has managed to set a benchmark in its category by attaining astounding mileage figures.
To achieve this feat, a regular 911 Carrera producing 345 hp equipped with Porsche’s latest in transmission technology, the Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (Double Clutch Gear Box) was used.

More spy shots: Next-generation Porsche 911 (998)
These are the first crystal-clear shots of the next-generation Porsche 911 – internally called the 998 – that will replace the current model in 2011.
Few days ago we reported that this here (same car, but from a farther distance in heavy rain) was the new 911 Turbo, but on these pictures you can see that the side air-intakes in front of the rear wheels are fakes – and so is the huge rear wing which hides the shape of the smaller spoiler of the standard 911s.
