New spy shots: Next generation Mercedes-Benz CLS
Last time we saw the CLS prototype was in snowy Sweden. Now the second generation Mercedes-Benz CLS has been spotted test driving around Munich.
This prototype still wears heavy black disguise. On the rear we can see tailpipes similar to the new E-Class sedan. Rumor is that the new CLS will use the stretched E-Class platform.
Mercedes-Benz unveils CLS Grand Edition
As we have already seen on spy shots, Mercedes is working on the next-generation CLS, which is due in 2011. To lot of people current CLS is one of the best looking coupe-style luxury sedans out there. To make the most out of current CLS, Mercedes has unveiled a Grand Edition of the CLS.
What makes the CLS Grand Edition stand out is the “designo magno platinum” matt paint finish.

Current generation CLS has been on the market since 2004 and it is time for the second generation to step in. Earlier there were rumors that the new CLS will be based on S-Class instead of E-Class. Judging from these photos it looks like CLS will stick to the E-Class platform, though it will be lengthened so it is bigger than E-Class, but still smaller than S-Class.
Unfortunately photographer only got a good view of the side and rear. Don’t worry as we will be seeing this car a lot more before Mercedes makes it official.
