Mazda MX-5 Black and Matte Special Edition

mazda-mx-5-black-matte-special-edition-1Mazda has released a special edition of their roadster to celebrate 20 years of Miata/MX-5 in France. The Mazda MX-5 Black and Matte Special Edition waw presented at the 21st annual Salon du Cabriolet, Coupe & SUV in Paris.

The special edition car was designed in partnership with fashion designer Laure Kczekotowska. Other highlights in addition to the matte black paintwork are darkened windows, black rims and different accessories crafted by jewelers.

Mazda MX-5 20th Anniversary Edition Announced for Europe

Mazda MX-5 20th Anniversary Special EditionNext month at the Geneva Motor Show, Mazda will premiere a 20th Anniversary special edition MX-5. This model will have a limited production run of just 2,000 units only be available in Europe.

Each car is equipped with a special edition scuff plate in stainless steel with pan-European serial number (1 to 2000).

Mazda releases facelifted 2011 Atenza in Japan

2011 Mazda AtenzaFacelifted Atenza is now on sale in Japan, available in three body styles - Sedan, Sport (five-door hatchback) and Sport Wagon. In Europe Atenza will make its debut as Mazda6 in March at the Geneva Motor Show.

The enhancements for the freshened Mazda Atenza are based on the Zoom-Zoom evolution development concept, and include improvements to its environmental and safety attributes, driving performance, interior and exterior design, and quality levels.

Mazda2 coming to the States, debuts next month at the LA Auto Show

mazda2In Europe small hatches have been selling very well for a long time. Looks like North American market is changing as more and more automakers are bringing their smaller models to American customers.

Mazda has no announced that the small Mazda2 will make its North American debut next month at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

2010 Mazda CX-7 debuts at Canadian International Auto Show

2010 Mazda CX-7For the 2010 year Mazda refreshes the exterior and interior of the CX-7. In addition to the visual changes engineers have also added the all-new naturally aspirated DOHC 16-valve 2.5 liter engine to the current engine lineup.

This new engine produces 161 hp and offers torque of 161 lb-ft at 3500 rpm.

Mazda CX-7 facelift spotted in Michigan

CX-7 will be more aggressiveMazda launched the CX-7 in 2006 as a 2007 model and now they are already working on a facelift. This prototype was spotted in Michigan this week wearing disguise on the front and rear.

It looks like the facelifted CX-7 gets larger air intakes giving the car more aggressive look. Also front fascia will be revised and tail lights. We expect that minor changes will be done to the interior as well.

Mazda RX-7 loses all four wheels at an autocross event

Ride it till the wheels fall off?Losing a tire/wheel while driving does not sound fun at all. What if you lose all four? This is what happened to a Mazda RX-7 owner at an autocross event. Just seconds after he started his “performance” he lost all FOUR wheels.

We assume he used racing wheels which only have one lug nut and he or his “pit crew” just forgot to torque down the lug nuts.

Performance version of the all-new Mazda3Mazda will be introducing two interesting versions of the all-new Mazda3 at this year’s Geneva Motor Show in March.

First one is the Mazda3 MPS (Mazdaspeed3 in the U.S.) for customers who look for more performance compared to the standard version and the second one is Mazda3 i-stop that adds a new eco-friendly option to the lineup.

All-new Mazda3 Hatchback debuts at Bologna Motor Show

Mazda released first images of the Mazda3 Hatch back in November. Now when the new Mazda3 Hatchback is on display at Bologna Motor Show they have released more details and additional images.

The car has a more dynamic and sportier design and a very impressive list of features when comparing to the current Mazda3. It is also longer than its predecessor.

The car is more quiet as there is a 6 to 11 % noise reduction compared previous generation, thanks to aerodynamic work, increased suspension rigidity, optimal positioning of vibration dampening material, increased body and panel rigidity.

Mazda Kaan wins Los Angeles Auto Show Design Challenge

The Mazda Kaan has won the Design Challenge at the 2008 Los Angeles Auto Show.The 2025 futuristi race car was designed at Mazda North American Operations by a team led by Jacques Flynn and Carlos Salaff.

The Los Angeles Auto Show has awarded the Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) design team top honors for the Mazda KAAN - the company’s rendition of a 2025 race car.

All-new Mazda3 5-door Hatchback unveiled

The second generation Mazda3 5-door hatchback follows on the heels of the 4-door sedan version, currently on display at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Hatchback version will be revealed to the public on December 3 at the Bologna Motor Show.

The new engine lineup has been tailored for European customers and now includes the newly developed 2.2-liter turbo diesel engine, just launched in the Mazda6, in addition to the existing 1.6-liter and 2.0-liter gasoline engines and the 1.6-liter turbo diesel.

2010 Mazda3 Hatchback spy photos by… Mazda

Mazda will unveil the new Mazda3 Hatchback on the 2nd December at the 2008 Bologna Motor Show in Italy. To keep things interesting they have released a whole set of images of the camouflaged Mazda3 Hatchback.

This is weird as usually we get spy photos from our partner photographers and readers. Anyways, the car will feature the same face as the recently unveiled Sedan.

In the States Mazda3 Hatchbacks will get the same gasoline engines as the Sedan. In Europe, both the sedan and hatchback will get smaller gasoline engines and also two diesel units.

The all-new Mazda3 premieres at the L.A. Auto Show

We saw the first images of the all-new Mazda3 beginning of October. Below we have more images and first details on the US spec 4-door sedan.

According to Mazda’s Chief designer, their mission was to remain faithful to the Mazda3’s existing visual identity while evolving its appearance with richer, bolder design strokes. New Mazda3 is a move toward a more unified Mazda global “family face”.

Ford sells a portion of its stake in Mazda

Yesterday we reported that GM plans to sell equity stake in Suzuki. Just like GM, Ford has huge financial problems and looking for ways to raise capital.

This morning Ford Motor Company entered into an agreement to sell a portion of its stake in Mazda Motor Corp. and that the two companies will continue their successful strategic relationship that spans nearly 30 years.

2010 Mazda3 MPS spotted

We have already seen the first official images of the 2010 Mazda3 Sedan. what we have here are the first spy shots of the upcoming Mazda3 MPS.

This high-performance version is based on the five-door hatchback body of the Mazda3 Sport and is marketed in North America as Mazdaspeed3 and in Europe Mazda3 MPS.
