Lotus Evora Cup CarLotus Motorsport announces the Evora Cup race car, which makes itw world debut this weekend at the Autosport International Show in Birmingham, England.

The car is built to FIA GT4 specs and eligible to run in different GT series, in addition Lotus announced one-make series for the Evora Cup Car.

Lotus Exige S Type 72 Special Edition

The colour scheme of the Exige S Type 72 commemorates the famous and easily recognisable black and gold Lotus Type 72 livery and is finished by the same sign writer who painted racing cars for Team Lotus.

2010 Lotus Evora pricing strarts at $73,500 in the US

Lotus EvoraLotus has announced that the all-new 2010 Evora will hit US dealerships in the first quarter of 2010. In preparation for the launch, Lotus will have two Evoras touring 44-city dealerships where customers can see the car in person, and of course place their orders for this new 2+2 sports car.

The Lotus Evora will be the only sports car on the makret with mid-engine 2+2 configuration.

Tokyo preview: Lotus Exige Scura

lotus-exige-scura-10Lotus Exige has so many special editions that it is hard keeping track how many have they already introduced. Here’s another one called Exige Scura that will make its world debut tomorrow at the Tokyo Motor Show.

Translated as ‘dark’ from Italian, the name ‘Scura’ reflects the stealth character of this already fierce looking Lotus and its stunning soft-feel matt black paint finish.

2010 MY Lotus Exige S unveiled in Geneva

2010 Lotus Exige SFor the MY 2010 Lotus has upgraded the Exige S. Exterior changes include a new front end with a larger air intake mouth and a new larger rear wing that reduces drag and gives the car a more muscular look.

Lotus offers three packages for the new Exige S. Touring pack, Sport pack and Performance pack.

Lotus Extrema by UK Garage

Lotus Extrema by UK GarageItalian based exotics tuner UK Garage presents its latest project, Lotus Exige based Extrema. Extrema body is longer(20 cm) and wider compared to the Exige. Chassis is aluminum and buyers can choose between a carbon fiber or a kevlar carbon body.

Engines offered start from a small 2.6-liter Powertec V8 engine to LS9 that powers the new Corvette ZR1.

Supercharged Lotus Evora will have at least 350 hp

All-new Lotus Evora will go on sale this spring with a price tag of less than £50,000 (76,035 U.S. dollars). First version of the Evora is powered by a modified 3.5-liter V6 Toyota engine that generates 276 hp.

Evora is the first all-new model in 13 years. Lotus is not about introducing new models every year, they are well known for introducing different modifications of current models, and this is the future of Evora.

Chrysler bringing 4-Seat Dodge EV to Detroit

Rumor has it that Chrysler could be bringing a new Dodge EV to the Detroit Auto Show. While details are still sketchy, we’ve been told that it will be a new four seat model based off of a Lotus platform.

It’s likely that the new Dodge EV will be based on the Lotus Evora and will feature more than just a badge swap this time around, though we’re not sure how much of a re-style it’ll receive.

Lotus plans their own electric sports car

Lotus is not new to electric cars. They are currently assembling bodies for the Tesla Roadster(all electric car based on Lotus Elise) at its factory in Norfolk. In addition they have advised Chrysler on their Dodge electric car, that is based on the Lotus Europa.

Technologically speaking this electric sports car will be similar to Chevrolet Volt. It will be equipped with a fuel-based “range extender” to back up its battery. Performance wise it will probably be similar to Tesla Roadster.

The Evora is the biggest milestone for Lotus since the Elise was born 13 years ago. This hand-built sports car will be available from early 2009 with a price tag of less than £50,000.

The new Lotus Evora is everything a sports car should be; sculptural, stylish and fast; considerably faster than the famous Elise and more refined at speed than the track-focused Exige. Lotus promises its trademark exemplar performance credentials and suggests the Evora will achieve a maximum speed of 160 mph and a 0-60 time at less than 5 seconds!

2009 Lotus Exige Cup 260

Lotus Cars has unveiled the 2009 Lotus Exige Cup 260. A direct development of the 2008 Exige Cup Car, this year’s car uses advanced light weight components and carbon fibre body material, to reduce the overall weight by 38 kg to a total mass less than 900 kg.

Maximum power output of 257 hp (260 PS), remains the same as the 2008 car, but with careful attention to weight reduction detail, the 2009 Lotus Exige Cup 260 provides a more agile and dynamic track focused drive and is more than capable of taming Europe’s most challenging race circuits.

Lotus Europa receives diamond treatment This year Lotus celebrates its 60th birthday and to properly mark the occasion, the British sportscar manufacturer has produced a real gem of a car – a fully customised, diamond-set Lotus Europa valued at £150,000 which will be launched at Lotus’ birthday celebrations in Hethel, Norfolk on Sunday 14th September 2008.

The diamond anniversary Lotus Europa has received the highest level of customisation from cosmetic enhancements to performance upgrades.

Idries Noah, South African designer who now works at the GM Holden Design team has created a design concept called: 2010 Europa i6.

His inspiration comes from old classic Europa and Elite that had a high rear section.

Lotus develops Ice Vehicle for the Antarctic Expedition

Lotus Concept Ice VehicleEngineered by the team at Lotus Engineering, the Lotus Ice Vehicle concept was developed to be taken to Antarctica on the Moon Regan TransAntarctic Expedition. The vehicle will aid the research going on in the region.

To be able to withstand the harsh polar environment, the Lotus Ice Vehicle has been tested in the northern Sweden.

Today Lotus unveiled Evora. It is the first all-new Lotus since the iconic Elise made its debut in 1995, The Evora enters the sports car market as currently the world’s only mid-engined 2+2.

Powered by a Lotus-tuned 3.5-litre V6 Toyota engine producing 280 PS, and weighing just 1350 kg (prototype specification), the Evora promises breathtaking performance.
