Kia Soul’ster revealed (live images from Detroit)
Despite the fact that it is cold and snowy in Detroit Kia has managed to bring some of the sunny beach feeling you would experience in California.
Kia Soul arrives at retailers already this spring. With the Soul’ster concept, Kia has young buyers budgets min mind.
When you look at it, it is like a modern day Suzuki Samurai. Except it looks so much better. Unfortunately it lacks off-road capabilities, so it is like a toy you can’t play with.

2009 Detroit Auto Show Kia Soul’ster Concept revealed
The Kia Soul’ster Concept was unofficially let loose on the inter-webs today. We had more or less expected what we see in this single image of the Soul’ster though it looks much better than what we previously imagined.
While Kia didn’t add a cargo bed to the 2010 Kia Soul, they did remove some of the upper body work and the two rear doors to create a modern day Suzuki Samurai. The roll-over bars extend from the rear of the mini-cargo area behind the rear seats, to the roof mounted cargo racks and houses a pair of fog lamps.

Kia releases second teaser of Detroit-bound Soul Concept
Kia has released its second teaser for the upcoming Soulster Concept that will make its worldwide debut at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show. While previously rumored to be a pickup variant of the recently introduced Kia Soul, it now appears that the Soulster Concept will feature a glass rear upper section which leads us to believe that it is a 2-door coupe variant.
Kia is remaining silent with the exception of these two teaser images and will debut the final version at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show next week. The Kia Soul is the South Korean competitor to Scion’s popular XB model and based on appearances alone, it looks to be quite a hit.

Rendered speculation: three-door and convertible variants of Kia Soul
Kia Soul is a funky looking “Urban-Crossover”. Kia has not confirmed that it plans on introducing additional variants of the Soul, but it is always fun to speculate how they would look.
Now a Kia-World forum member Kevin has created a three-door and a soft-top convertible version of the Soul. These renderings are not bad at all, though we like the five-door version more. Kevin should seriously consider sending these pics to KIA.
Paris preview: Kia Soul hybrid
In addition to the cee’d gasoline hybrid Kia will also debut the Kia Soul hybrid at the Paris Motor Show.
The Soul Hybrid concept comes complete with a transparent bonnet and floor, so the new hybrid powertrain and battery pack can be viewed by show visitors.
This Soul features a 1.6-litre gasoline engine, mated to a 15 kW, 105 Nm electric motor, Kia´s own CVT (continuously variable transmission), ISG and ‘regenerative braking´ to re-charge its power pack.
Official pictures: Kia Soul interior

The pictures that our spy photographer got gave almost as much information. Kia has not revealed what will we find in the dash. In addition to the new images Kia also revealed engine details and how much real space Soul has.
Kia Soul interior spied
We have showed you different pictures of the Kia Soul. Kia Soul will come to US showrooms in April of 2009. Engine choises include two four-cylinder gasoline engines: a 1.6-liter and a 2.0-liter. European models will get the 1.6-liter gasoline and 1.6-liter diesel engine.
So we know how it looks outside, but so far there have been no pictures on how it will look inside. Here we have first pictures if the Kia Soul interior taken in Germany. It looks nice and simple. It is hard to tell is there a small luggage in the center like on Subaru Forrester’s or perhaps navi pops out from there. Also looking at the spedometer and the steering wheel it looks to be hard to see your speed if you are a taller person.
