Honda cancels 560 hp NSX supercar development

Last week Honda announced their plans to withdraw from all Formula One activities. Today comes news, that the next victim of bad economy is the new V10 powered Honda NSX.

It was expected to arrive beginning of 2010 under Acura brand in the US and as a Honda in Europe. This past summer when Honda was testing the car in Germany it was doing impressive lap times on the famous Nürburgring. There were even speculations that it is just a matter of time when the NSX laps the ring faster than Nissan GT-R.

NSX will be powered by a V10 engine producing around 550hp. Rear-wheel drive system will be based on Acura’s SH-AWD(Super Handling All-Wheel Drive). Rumor is that NSX is trying to break the Nissan GT-R’s time which was 7:29.

Honda NSX spied on NürburgringIn addition to yesterdays pictures we have new pictures of the 2010 Honda NSX doing some laps on the Nürburgring.

New NSX is expected to get a 550 hp V10 engine. Rear-wheel drive system will be based on Acura’s SH-AWD(Super Handling All-Wheel Drive).
Car will be launched most probably in the US beginning of 2010 as Acura NSX.

In the end you will see some pictures of the car heading back to the facility.
