Chevrolet Volt might be called Opel / Vauxhall Electra in Europe

It is no secret that GM is planning to sell Chevy Volt in Europe as well. The Opel/Vauxhall version of the Volt will likely be based on the Flextreme concept that was shown at last year’s Frankfurt Motor Show.
GM has not confirmed the design nor its potential name for the EU market. So far it seemed obvious it might be called Opel/Vauxhall Volt. Now it looks that the car might be called Vauxhall Electra, as GM has applied for a trademark for “Vauxhall Electra” on June 4th 2008.
