SEMA preview: Ford 3-Window Coupe Hot Rod gets a 400 hp EcoBoost engine
When you think of a hot rod you think of a big V8 engines. Ford claims the motto “There’s no replacement for displacement,” is out of date with their EcoBoost™-powered ‘34 Ford hot rod.
Next week at the SEMA Show,Ford Powertrain and Detroit Street Rods are showing the public a 1934 Ford 3-Window EcoBoost Coupe Hot Rod.
This hot rod will be the “first” rear-wheel-drive application of the 3.5-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V-6 delivering an estimated 400 horsepower and 400 ft.-lb. of torque.
2010 Ford Flex receives a new 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine
2010 Flex is the first Ford to receive a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 that delivers 355 hp and 350 kb.ft. of torque. It looks like Americans finally understand that it is not about displacement always. Even smaller engines when turbocharged can offer V8 like(or even better) performance and fuel efficiency.
Ford’s 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 is the first gasoline direct-injection twin-turbocharged engine produced in North America. Basically this engine has the power of a normally aspirated 4.6-liter V8 with a V6 efficiency.
