Only in Dubai: Special edition blue Bugatti Veyron

Bugatti Veyron has a limited run of just 300 units. It is one of the most exclusive supercars in production. For some of the rich and famous the standard Veyron is not exclusive enough.

This beautiful special edition blue Bugatti Veyron was spotted at the Mall of Emirates(where our reader Francis spotted chromed SLR ) in Dubai. The car has a chassis # 297 and is modified by Bugatti to a man named Mohammad Yousuf Baqer (take a look at the initials on the picture below).

Reader pics: Chromed SLR McLaren in Dubai

When our reader Francis saw the images of the matt gold GTR, it reminded him something cool he had photographed a week earlier in Dubai.

This chromed SLR was parked outside the Mall of the Emirates (huge shopping mall in Dubai) causing a hell of a scene! When you look at the images you will also notice Lamborghini Gallardo, Bentley Flying Spur, 911 Turbo, Rolls-Royce Drophead Coupe and other luxury cars. This surely isn’t the view most of us see near our shopping mall entrances. Thanks for the images Francis!

GM Delivers First Hybrids to Dubai Government

General Motors today delivered its first hybrid vehicles in the Middle East to the Government of Dubai and the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

The vehicles, which include the Chevrolet Tahoe hybrid and the Chevrolet Malibu hybrid, are part of a ground-breaking project that involves a 12-month trial using the vehicles as public taxis that could eventually lead to one of the largest hybrid fleets in the world.

Top Gear will have three Veyrons in one episode!

Over the last weekend Top Gear was filming one of their eposides for the new season in Abu Dhabi. In addition they were doing photo shoots in different locations. At first the producers were looking for one Veyron but were offered three! Surely you can’t find another place in the world, where you can find 3 Veyrons in 48 hours.

Owners asked to stay anonymous. By the way one of them(the aluminium one) was Veyron Pur Sang that only had a total production of FIVE.

Horrific accident on Abu Dhabi-Dubai highway near Ghantoot

Abu Dhabi: At least three people were killed and nearly 350 injured in a horrific 60 vehicle pile-up on the Abu Dhabi-Dubai highway near Ghantoot on Tuesday.

The 25km stretch of the UAE’s busiest highway from Abu Dhabi to Dubai was closed for more than five hours, resulting in huge tailbacks during rush hours.

Police said among the 347 injured, six people were critical, while 39 suffered medium injuries. The remaining suffered minor injuries.
