Audi RS5 and Ur-quattro meet on the track (Video)
Audi has released a promotional video for the new RS5 that made its public debut earlier this month at the Geneva Motor Show. This new RS model packs a naturally aspirated 4.2-liter V8 that produces 450 horsepower and 430Nm of torque.
In this new video this new video RS5 is featured together video the original Ur-quattro from the 1980s, that was one of the most amazing rally cars at the time. Audi RS5 will go on sale this spring with a price around €77,000.
Audi RS5 unveiled ahead of Geneva debut
Watch out BMW M3! Developed by quattro GmbH, the RS5 model joins the RS6 and TT RS. Power comes from a naturally aspirated 4.2-liter V8, which is a close relative of the V10 that powers the high-performance R8 sports car.
The 4.2 FSI provides imposing torque and is right at home even at high revs – almost like a race engine. The engine delivers 450 hp at 8,250 rpm and between 4,000 and 6,000 rpm transmits a maximum of 430 Nm (317.15 lb-ft) of torque.
Audi RS5 testing continues with the start of spring
We saw one of the test mules for Audi RS5 back in October. During winter time it was very quiet and no prototypes were seen - it almost seemed until today that Audi might have put the RS5 development on hold due to the bad economy.
Now we have proof that Audi’s in house performance team Quattro, which is responsible for the RS models is back and testing the RS5.

The car looks just like a normal S5, but according to photographer it did not sound like S5. Also the front bumper is different with bigger air intakes giving it away that is a test mule for the RS5.
RS5 will be competing with BMW M3 and Mercedes-Benz C63. RS5 just like other RS models is developed by Quattro, Audi’s in house performance team.
