Super Sport Concept Program for Audi R8 by Senner Tuning
German tuner Senner Tuning has developed a new programm for the Audi R8 4.2 V8 FSI called Super Sport Concept. Thanks to new engine management, the use of special sport air filter inserts, new exhaust system with valve control engine power increases to 458 hp and 470 Nm of torque.
New sport suspension springs get the R8 about 25 mm closer to the asphalt on the front axle and 15 mm on the rear axle.
Audi R8 electric car
The German magazine Auto Motor and Sport and the French title L’Automobile have been carrying reports of Audi working on a new electric car. However, Audi’s CEO recently said that it will take time for electric vehicles to enter the mainstream and become more affordable.
It is entirely likely, given the current environmentally friendly scenario, that Audi is working on a electric vehicle which will sport either a pure electric set-up or a range-extended design, perhaps with an internal combustion engine hooked up to a generator.
PPI RAZOR GTR based on the Audi R8
PPI RAZOR GTR is the most extreme version of the Audi R8 we have ever seen. With specially engineered supercharger it has 580hp / 427 kW at 7,400 rpm and maximum torque of 600 Nm at 6,200 rpm.
Compared to the stock R8 it is 250 kg lighter (stock R8 weighs 1,580 kg). Weight savings are possible thanks to extensive use of carbon fiber.
MTM Audi R8 in GT3 RS Porsche green and 560 horsepower
MTM has started a new individualization program for the Audi R8. To show what the program is all about they have created a one of a kind Audi R8 finished with “Porsche 2D8″ green - same color that the Porsche uses on the GT3 RS.
Other notable exterior changes include a carbon fiber front splitter, side skirts and a rear diffuser.
Audi releases a new R8 V10 5.2 FSI Quattro video
In addition to the first video that was released few weeks ago Audi has released a new video of the R8 V10.
Those of you who have missed all the news about the R8 V10 here is a quick refreshment: Power comes from a modified V10 found in the Lamborghini Gallardo that now develops 528 horsepower.

Audi’s new supercar R8 V10 5.2 FSI was revealed back in December. Yesterday Audi released more pictures and a video of this 528 hp supercar, that will be available at Audi dealerships in Europe already in April.
Refresher: Current Audi R8 with the 4.2-liter V8 produces 420 hp, but it is not enough to take on other supercars such as Porsche’s 911 Turbo.
Rendered speculation: 2010 Audi R8 Spyder
So far we have seen the spy shots and also official sketch by Audi how the R8 Spyder will look like. Problem with spy shots(if the car is disguised) and sketches is that they work as teasers.
Until Audi releases official images of the R8 Spyder our artist has created a rendering of the open top R8.
We expect the R8 Spyder to come first with the 4.2-liter V8 producing 420 hp. Later on more powerful version with Lamborghini’s 5.2-liter V10 producing 528 hp should follow.
Audi R8 V10 5.2 FSI in hot red
Yesterday Audi revealed the R8 V10 5.2 FSI. Today Audi released new images of a HOT red R8 V10. Looks like it is time to change the wallpaper as these are the hottest images of any Audi we have ever seen.
If you are planning to visit Detroit Auto show next month you can see the car in live. Luckily you don’t have to wait for too long to drive this 528 hp supercar, as in Europe it will be available already from April.
Audi R8 V10 5.2 FSI: First official images and details
Audi R8 is one of the best looking supercars out there. Current 4.2-liter V8 with 420 hp has not been enough to compete with other supercars such as Porsche’s 911 Turbo.
Audi’s solution is a 5.2-liter V10 with 528 hp, that currently powers Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4. This power is sent to all four wheels via six-speed manual or an R-tronic semi-automatic gearbox.
0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) comes in just 3.9 seconds and 0-200 km/h (124 mph) in 8.1 seconds. While a top speed is 316 km/h (196 mph).

Video: GT3-spec Audi R8 LMS
Audi introduced the GT3-spec R8 at this year’s Essen Motor Show and in addition to previous images has also released the first video of the R8 LMS.
R8 LMS will be available from autumn 2009. Because the GT3 regulations prohibit the use of four-wheel drive the Audi R8 comes with the typical GT rear-wheel drive. R8 LMS has over 500 hp and all this power is sent to the rear wheels via a newly developed six-speed sequential sports gearbox.
The suspension uses almost exclusively components from the production line. A comprehensive list of safety equipment guarantees the highest-level of passive safety. A modified front end and a large rear-wing generate the required downforce for the race track.
Essen 2008: PPI Razor GTR
PPI Automotive Design will introduce a PPI Razor GTR at this year’s Essen Motor Show.
The goal was to improve the power-to-weight ratio of the Audi R8 while simultaneously strengthening the motor, increasing performance, improving handling dynamics, and managing to reduce the weight of the Audi R8.
2009 Audi R8 GT3 on the Nürburgring
Audi introduced the R8 GT3 back in August. R8 GT3 is a racing sports car specifically developed for customer use in the form of the powerful 500 hp which will be available from autumn 2009. All this power is sent to the rear wheels via sequential sport six–speed gearbox (GT3 regulations prohibit the use of four-wheel drive).
Currently Audi is testing this car together with ABT Sportsline at the Nürburgring. Driver of the testi car is Frank Biela who drove this morning in wet conditions and in very low temperature (just 1.5 °C) a lap time of 8:41 minutes. Check out the photos of this über R8 below.

Vizualtech R 8.8 BioCat inspired by Audi R8
Swedish company Vizualtech has designed a 8.8 meter (29 feet) long catamaran with inspiration from the Audi R8.
It was designed for a Dubai race boat company. Power comes either from a modified biodiesel V10 engine or from two smaller V8 engines with 320 hp.
Estimated top speed is around 110 mph. Materials used are very light and strong. This is the first catamaran we have ever seen that comes with gullwing doors.
Audi R8 gets supercharged by MTM
What if the current Audi R8 is not powerful enough with its 420 hp? You can always wait till the V10 version with over 500 hp comes out next year or you can turn into Audi experts at MTM.
MTM has developed a twin-screw supercharger for the current 4.2-liter V8 in the Audi R8 that increases power output to 552 hp. New sprint time from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) is 3.9 seconds. Top speed is 315 km.
