Rendered speculation: 2010 Hyundai Sonata

Next generation Sonata will go on sale in South Korea second half of 2009. It is a totally new model not a facelift of the current Sonata.

New Sonata which is codenamed YF is another sedan to follow the coupe style design. Renderings below are based on the new Genesis sedan and spy photos of the new Sonata. 2010 Sonata is very likely the first Hyundai that will be offered with a hybrid powertrain.

Rendered speculation: 2010 Audi R8 Spyder

So far we have seen the spy shots and also official sketch by Audi how the R8 Spyder will look like. Problem with spy shots(if the car is disguised) and sketches is that they work as teasers.

Until Audi releases official images of the R8 Spyder our artist has created a rendering of the open top R8.

We expect the R8 Spyder to come first with the 4.2-liter V8 producing 420 hp. Later on more powerful version with Lamborghini’s 5.2-liter V10 producing 528 hp should follow.

Rendered speculation: 2010 Acura Crossover

First time we saw the Acura’s X6 fighter was back in August, when it was spotted in Death Valley. In October we spotted the car already in the city of Nürburg.

Both cars spotted had a very heavy disguise, but when looking closely you could see that the top behind the B-part goes down like on the new BMW X6.

Rumor is that Acura is working on the new V8, that will power this new SAV. As Acura already has MDX, then speculation is the new crossover will be called MSX.

Rendered speculation: 2011 BMW 8-series

BMW is rumored to have plans to revive the 8-Series name for a potential “four-door coupe,” much like the Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class. New 8-series would compete closely with the new Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class, Aston Martin Rapide and Porsche Panamera.

Beginning of the year BMW placed Gerhard Richter in charge of development of its new Gran Turismo model, which is based on the popular CS concept car. New model will be called either simply GT, short for Gran Turismo or 8-series. Most likely the car will get the previous 8-series models name so that BMW can position it as the highest, most luxurious and expensive model.

Rendered speculation: 2010 Mercedes-Benz SLC Gullwing

We have seen the upcoming Mercedes-Benz SLC Gullwing in different disguises hiding carefully the final look.

Modern SLC Gullwing will be powered by AMG’s 6.2-liter V8 with around 600 hp. 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint will take about 3.7 seconds. Top speed is expected to be more than 200mph.

Most likely it will be shown formally at the 2010 Geneva motor show (with a concept expected in autumn 2009) while a canvas-roofed roadster, tagged R197, will be unveiled in 2011. What we have here are not the new spy photos, but artist renderings of what the car might look without all the camouflage.

Rendered speculation: 2011 Mercedes-Benz CLS

We saw the test mule of the 2011 CLS-Class end of September in the Alps. Current CLS is based on the E-Class, new one will likely use the S-Class platform. By the time new CLS arrives it already has strong competitors out in the form of Audi A7 and Porsche Panamera.

New CLS will feature a wider track and sharper body lines, overall styling will not change much. Here we have artist renderings based on that information.

Rendered speculation: 2012 BMW Z2

About a month ago we reported that BMW plans to produce a Z2 Roadster that will be based on the platform of the 1-series.

Z2 would come with a soft fabric roof and the styling would be similar to Z4. Engine choices would be the same as on the 1-series. Currently the project waits for an approval from the top heads at BMW. Most likely the car would be first introduced in 2011 or 2012 at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

Four-door Ferrari Coupe rendering

Porsche is working on the four-door Panamera, Aston Martin has the Rapide coming, Koenigsegg has confirmed that they are working on a four-door saloon and in just few days Lamborghini will introduce a four-door concept at the Paris Motor Show.

What about Ferrari? There is no information that Ferrari is working on a four-door supercar, even though in the past they have built a custom four-foor Ferrari for the Sultan of Brunei. Now a talented Russian designer Igor Krasnov has created a rendering what the four-door Ferrari might look like. We wouldn’t be surprised to see something similar on the roads in a few years.

Artist rendering: Ferrari F430 Scuderia Spider

artist rendering: Ferrari F430 Scuderia SpiderRumor is that Ferrari is working on an open-top version of the 430 Scuderia. It is hard to understand why are they working on a spider version of the track car. The car already is very loud. We can’t imagine driving it without the ear-muffs so it is hard to understand why would Ferrari work on a spider version of its exclusive track car.

If it really goes into production it is most likely going to be a very limited edition with just a few hundred units.

Artist Rendering: Aston Martin One-77

Aston Martin One-77 Artist RenderingAston Martin released a snapshot of the One-77 beginning of August.

The One-77 will be revealed later this year most likely at the Paris Motor Show. Jon Sibal who last time created a rendering of the SLR Speedster has now created a rendering of the upcoming One-77. Like last time he has created something beautiful.
