Power comes from a twin turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 that develops 507 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque.

2009 Alpina B7 official image “leaks out” before Geneva debut

2009 Alpina B7Beginning of the month we brought you spy photos of the 2009 Alpina B7 that had very little disguise. This time first official image has “leaked” to the web ahead of the next week’s official debut in Geneva.

Alpina B7 will get the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 that develops 507 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. Power will be sent to new eight-speed transmission. 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) will come in 4.7 seconds. Top speed is 173 mph ( 278 km/h).

Alpina returns to FIA GT3Alpina has unveiled first details about the B6 GT3 in which the company will make its racing comeback to the FIA GT3 European Championships.

This is good news as lately it has been all about automakers withdrawing from different racing series. Good to see someone actually getting back into the game.

2009 Alpina B7 spied nearly undisguised in Germany

2009 Alpina B7 There won’t be M7, but there will be Alpina B7. Exterior changes compared to the stock 2009 7-series are small and include a custom front lip and a rear spoiler.

The difference compared to the stock 7-series is the engine. Current 2009 750i has a 400 hp 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 with 405 lbs-ft and Alpina will boost the power to over 500 hp.

Alpina hits Geneva with B6 GT3 and B7

alpina-b6-gt3BMW fans’ favorite tuning house after the M-division is surely the Alpina. It gives some solid competition to and makes a connoisseur’s alternative to the M-park. Now Alpina has some braking news regarding the soon-to-arrive Geneva Motor Show.

The first new knight is Alpina’s version of the new BMW 7 Series and is called the B7. It cranks out half a thousand horses from that centrifugal-supercharged 4.4-liter V8. No photo of it yet, though.

After a 20-year absence from the competitive scene, the manufacturer best known for their development of ultra-high-performance variants of the BMW model range is to field a race car based on the BMW ALPINA B6S in the FIA GT3 European Championship, as well as major endurance events.

Racing with street-based ‘dream’ cars in GT3 has consistently attracted drivers, spectators and manufacturers alike.

In the hands of F1 and Touring Car drivers such as Niki Lauda, Jacky Ickx, Hans Stuck and Dieter Quester, ALPINA notched up numerous European Touring Car Championships and Nurburgring 24 hour wins, as well as the 24 Hours of Spa in 1970.
