The 2010 BMW X3 - spy shots

The 2010 BMW X3 has been captured on camera: the test driven car was spotted in the southwest. It has a characteristic sloping hood, front air intakes, rounded corners and an overall sportier look. This second generation model of the suburban wagon and will compete with the Audi Q5.

2010 BMW X3 spotted together with the current X3

We have seen the 2010 BMW X3 with the same disguise before. What makes these new photos interesting is that the new X3 prototype was spotted testing together with the current model.

Looking at the new X3 next to the current one you can see that the rear roof is lower than on the current model. Also the body is more roundish making it sportier. Other visual changes you can see are the revised headlights and tail lights.

2010 BMW X3 prototype spotted on the Nürburging

In addition to all the previous spy shots of the next-generarion X3, BMW has now taken then new X3 to the famous Nürburgring for testing. BMW has to hurry has the current X3 is facing very strong competition from Mercedes-Benz GLK and Audi Q5.

On these new images you can see the car has finished headlights and tail lights.

2010 BMW X3 spied again

BMW is testing the next X3 with the worst(it is just so annoying and probably works for BMW hiding all the little details) camouflage we have seen in a while(Audi gets the first place with its A7 prototype that was covered with a huge cloth). The car looks quit similar to the current X3. Main changes will are most likely the grill and new rear and head lights.

Rumor is that the new X3 gets two new engines. New 3.0-liter I-6 turbodiesel engine in conjunction with the dual-clutch transmission. And a new 3.0-liter turbo L6 gasoline engine producing 326hp.

Spy pictures: Next BMW X3

This here should be the next X3 not the new X1 as we thought it is at first.
Dimensions of the car should stay close to what they are now. Main styling changes look to be new grill and changed headlights.

New X3 will definetely face a very strong competition from Audi Q5 and the new Mercedes-Benz GLK.
Production will be moved to the Spartanburg plant where the X5 and X6 are made.
