Los Angeles 2009: Customized Mazda2 Concepts

mazda2-active2-surf-and-active2-snow At the Los Angeles Auto Show, Mazda is showing three tuned concepts based on the small Mazda2. First one is called Mazda 2Evil Special Concept and is inspired by the weekend track car, which functions equally well as an urban commuter.

The body has been modified to show a more aggressive front spoiler and a deeper side rocker for improved aerodynamics and lower overall stance. In addition it has a strong lower diffuser and a new rear spoiler for additional downforce and a race appearance.

LA Preview: 2010 Subaru Impreza WRX STI Special Edition

2010-subaru-wrx-sti-special-edition-1 Next month at the Los Angeles Auto Show, Subaru will introduce the 2010 Impreza WRX STI Special Edition. Available in an initial limited run of 125 units, the WRX STI Special Edition features upgraded performance suspension (derived from the Japanese domestic market spec C), unique Aspen White paint and custom spec C wheels.

The WRX STI Special Edition will eventually become a regular production model later in 2010, available in standard colors.

2010 Green Car of the Year finalists announced

2010 Honda Insight Green Car Journal has announced five finalists for the 2010 Green Car of the Year. Even though we are talking about electric cars almost daily there is no such car in the list. Why? There are plenty of concepts, but very few cars that are actually in production today.

2010 Green Car of the Year has 3 hybrids and two diesels in the list. Honda Insight, Mercury Milan Hybrid, Toyota Prius, Audi A3 TDI and Volkswagen Golf TDI.
