Sunbeam Tiger ConceptOriginal Sunbeam Tiger was built by Sunbeam of Wolferhampton. In 1926 this bright-red named “Ladybird” set a new land speed record of 152.33 mph (245.15 km/h).

Until today it is the smallest engined car ever to hold the Land Speed Record.

Power came from a 4-liter V12 engine that produced 306 horsepower. Now Ryan Skelley, a final year Automotive Design studen at Coventry University has created a modern day concept of the Sunbeam Tiger.

Sunbeam Tiger Concept is a lightweight, 2 seater roadster that uses eco-friendy materials and electric powertrain with lithium-titanate battery pack.

According to Ryan estimated acceleration from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) is 2.3 seconds and the top speed 160 mph (257 km/h). Driving range is an amazing 800 miles (1287 kilometers) between charges.

Ryan Skelley said “I wanted to create a British roadster that would be the first of its kind in terms of its drivetrain and use of materials.”
