Studiotorino turns SL Roadster into COUPETORINO

Turin based Studiotorino in partnership with IAAD (Instituto di Arte Applicata e Design di Torino) has developed a COUPETORINO, a single to-scale model inspired by the iconic Mercedes-Benz SL spider.

The goal was to transform the iconic SL Roadster into an exclusive coupe, while maintaining the car’s identity and adding a touch of Italian flair.

The project is presented at the “Bespoke Coachwork” exhibition which takes place at the Turin Gallery as part of the greater event “Turin World Design Capital 2008”.

The exhibition includes a 1:4 scale model personally modeled by Alfredo Stola and a photographic exhibit presenting the development stages, from conception to final realization. If the name Alfredo Stola does not ring a bell, then Maybach definitely should, as Alfredo Stola was the technical and commercial project manager for the developing of the model and concept-car Maybach.
