SsangYong Rexton is a SUV based on the Mercedes-Benz M-Class. First released in Korea in late 2001 it received first styling changes in 2006. After the last facelift the car was renamed Rexton II. This here is a new car named Y 300 that is bigger in size than the current Rexton II and will feature a new 3.2-liter diesel engine.
Even though it almost looks like the Rexton it is a different model.
Y 300 can be configured to seat seven people or five. Current Rexton II is available only with four-wheel drive and three engines: a 2.7 liter 121 kW (162 hp) / 342 N·m (252 ft·lbf) common rail diesel, a 2.9 liter diesel and a 3.2 liter 162 kW (217 hp) / 310 N·m (229 ft·lbf) petrol engine, all are manufactured under license from Mercedes-Benz.
Rexton is a very succesful model in its home market and SsangYong hopes the success will continue in Europe.
