Spyker owner survives attempt on life

2009-spyker-c8-aileron-21It is being reported that Russian banker, Alexander Antonov, the owner of Spyker Cars, was critically wounded after being shot in the stomach.

He has so far survived, along with his bodyguard who was also shot and wounded.

So far the Russian investigators believe it was an assassination attempt on Mr. Antonov. He was hit five times in the stomach, chest and the finger. One of his bodyguards was shot in the leg.

His wife heard the shots from inside their home, from which he was leaving, and called the police while another bodyguard drove him to the hospital.

The gunmen was able to squeeze off 18 rounds. Police are still looking for clues in the case, but have yet to have any big leads. It is suspected that the assassination attempt was directly due to Alexander Antonov’s business ventures. He is reported to be worth about $3.5 billion (2,669,921 Euros). The doctors have reported that his injuries are not life threatening.
