Spy shots: Buick is working on a new small car

Under the heavy disguise is a small front-wheel drive sedan by Buick, that will very likely be called Excelle. This baby Buick will share its Delta II platform with Chevrolet Cruze and Opel Astra.

Rumor is that it will go on sale in U.S. and China earliest in 2011.

There is a possibility that it will also enter European market, as production may take place in Germany.

If it goes on sale in Europe it would be very important step for Buick becoming a global brand.

Engines are very likely going to be shared with the Chevrolet Cruze. Another rumor is that GM could slot a version of the Chevy Volt’s powertrain into this small Buick.

Until GM releases any kind of official details we are going to see a whole lot of more prototypes in the testing. Stay tuned!
