Spy shots: 2010 Volkswagen Scirocco R20T

Earlier this morning the hottest version of the Scirocco was spotted outside of the Nürburgring. We saw the concept version already at last year’s Bologna Motor Show. Now VW engineers are performing final tests on this 265 horsepower hot hatch.

On this test mule we can already see the new front bumper and side skirts.

Production version will also get a new rear bumper with twin exhaust pipes and a diffuser on the lower section of the bumper. Very likely there is going to be a rear wing as well just like the concept had.

Power comes from a 2.0-liter TFSI turbocharged engine that produces 265 horsepower. 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) is expected to take less than 6 seconds.

Scirocco R20T (or just R) will be launched together with the Golf R20 during the 24 hour race later this year.
