Looks like Saab is the next automaker to go with the coupe-like design. Next-generation 9-5 was spotted yesterday in Sweden with heavy camouflage hiding most character lines.
Despite the camouflage we can see that the roof flows much smoother into the rear making it another coupe-like sedan.
Compared to the current 9-5 new model will gain some weight, height and also length. Rumor is that the wheelbase is increased by 14 cm (5.5 inches).
Gasoline engines will start with a 2.0-liter turbo making around 210 hp. 2.8-liter V6 will also be offered in Europe, U.S. customers can choose also a bigger 3.6-liter V6 found in the new Buick LaCrosse. In Europe a diesel version will also be offered.
2010 Saab 9-5 will go against new Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Cadillac STS, Audi A6 and Volvo S80. Public debut will take place in September at the Frankfurt Auto Show.
