In additon the X6 Active Hybrid pictures we brought you beginning of this month we have the pictures and first details on the X5 hybrid as well.
Can we be sure it is the prototype of X5 Hybrid?
The car has a huge bulge on the hood and also it has a warning sticker on the rear window:: “Caution: Hybrid-Prototype (High Voltage On Board).”
It is not known will the X5 Hybrid run on gasoline or diesel engine.
We believe it will most likely use a diesel engine just like the X5 Efficient Dynamics Active Hybrid concept that was shown at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show. That concept had a 2-liter, twin turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine combined with a 20 hp electric motor.
At the same time X6 Hybrid spotted was a petrol-based so the X5 Hybrid might not be a diesel-hybrid.
