2009 Mini Cooper CabrioA bunch of young males agreed to make fools out of themselves to help Mini sell more Cabrios. They dressed up, opened the top and paid a visit to a car wash.

In the end they started the Mini Cabrio up again, took their video cameras out of the plastic bags and drove away into the wind to get a head, back and shoulder ache. The Mini on the other hand demonstrated its reliability, proving to work even after a bath like that.

Some people who own a convertible seldom use the convenience of opening it up. Mini tells us that the new Cabrio is always open. Because it wants to be. It even has a special dial to tell you how much of the time you have owned the small open-top have you actually driven it with the top open.

Surely it is to make us take the opening up of the car as a little challenge. To get the point where you have driven the Mini Cabrio substantially more without the roof. And that really is the point of the car – sunglasses on and roof down.

The amateur-looking but actually professionally produced promotional video is shot on location in Toronto at the Crosstown Touchless Carwash and it is set to Tchaikovsky’s “Waltz of the Flowers” from The Nutcracker.
