If you have ever been to Russia(or any parts of former Soviet Union), then you likely have seen the GAZ-51 on country sides or even in the city traffic.
GAZ-51 is the longest produced Soviet truck. First prototypes were produced during World War II and the production finished in 1975. Now over 30 years later people still use them.
Now a Russian company “Grande-Garage” has taken the cabin of this Soviet era truck and turned it into one of the coolest hot-rod projects we have seen coming out of Russia.
The project is based on the underpinnings of the Cadillac Escalade EXT and is being built for a wealthy Russian. The project is not quite finished, but so far we love it. Unfortunately the idea is not so new as Chevrolet tried to sell something similar in the form of SSR from 2003-2006.

You ll see probsbly even wors types of vehicls.
To Alex!
Whe don’t use gaz 51 for many years! I havn’t seen it more than 20 years! It’s very-very rear!
chechen - is not former republic of USSR! It was the part of Russia and it is a part of Russia and it will be a part of Russia!
Some german use old trucks … many americans use old trucks … and so on! what’s the fuck?
Karl Marx is rolling over in his grave!
Damn Bourgeoisie!
This is awesome though.
I was under the impression that a significant proportion of the cars in america are a similar age to this. Even if I’m wrong, the very fact that a 30 year old car is still in widespread use is not so unbelievable as to call bullshit on it.
Anyway, the truck looks a lot better now, but I seriously hope it has a new engine, ha ha, Feel that 1970’s soviet power! maybe not. Get some pics up of the powertrain!
This is what you do if you are a Ruskie Billionaire(read crook).
Great job, this looks great. How big of an engine did you put in?
