General Motors showed the Cadillac Converj concept at the Detroit Auto Show beginning of this year. This plug-in extended range Coupe was at first sight something people wanted to see GM produce, but with the economy down and GM near bankruptcy it seemed too good to be true.
No according to The Detroit News, the production version of the Converj concept will very likely reach showrooms in just few years shortly after GM has launched the Chevrolet Volt, which will share its Voltec drivetrain with the Converj.
That means Converj will get the same 40 mile range before the combustion engine kicks in to charge the batteries. Let’s hope GM stays true to the concept design and does not change it much.
