Next generation Sonata will go on sale in South Korea second half of 2009. It is a totally new model not a facelift of the current Sonata.

New Sonata which is codenamed YF is another sedan to follow the coupe style design. Renderings below are based on the new Genesis sedan and spy photos of the new Sonata. 2010 Sonata is very likely the first Hyundai that will be offered with a hybrid powertrain.

  • Jo says:

Hyundai is full of surprises. This looks fantastic and I do believe that their quality cant be compared to what it was just 5 years ago.

I’ve gone through the Lexus 400 series since it’s beginings into the new Camry SE V6 and I think I will go into the Hyundai Genesis, or maybe the Sonata with thier great looks, value, and improved//proved quality.

this is a photoshopped genesis, and a bad one at that.

the new YF Sonata looks nothing like this.

    John!

This is a rendering and of course the real thing will be different. But I think it is always fun to see different speculations and later compare em to the real ride.

This is another nice looking car from Hyundai. Great styling with a game-changing hybrid system will give this car company a lot more respect!

  • Rodney K says:

Never thought I would say it but this is a hyundai that I would buy. However, I still have to wonder about the resale value.

The side profile is in line with spy pics of mules. Over 50% of this Genesis chop will be in the YF Sonata. Despite some misguided responses, this is one sublime rendering.

hey all! I currently am a certified Hyundai Sales Professional, and you can not believe the amount of Toyota, Honda, and Lexus buyers that we are getting!
We are in a small lot in Houston and we have already sold 113 cars for this month! They are selling like hotcakes:)

    sonata 2010

  • BG says:

Looks great from the outside. I just hope the interior
is not too plain so it matches the elegance and sporty in mind
    of the outside.

I really admire Hyundai for so quickly catching and then as we speak now, surpassing the Toyota’s and Honda’s of this world. The latest JD Power quality ratings lists Hyunda as #4, behind Porsche, Cadillac, and Lexus. Note that makes Hyundai the best quality for mass market cars. Ahead of Toyota, Infiniti, Honda, Nissan, BMW, Mercedez, Audi, etc. That they can make such vast improvements from generation to next generation cars is most admirable. I can hardly wait for the next Sonata hybrid. My favorite car right now is really a blend between the Genesis and the new Prius. I think the new Sonata hybrid will be that ideal and with a 100,000 mile warranty as a bonus. Can’t wait!
