Last year it looked like it is just a matter of time when Porsche is going to take over Volkswagen Group. Porsche’s stake in VW is 51 % and they planned to increase it, but with the whole economy down they had to stop their takeover plans.
Now latest news is that Porsche and Volkswagen are in intense talks about creating an integrated car manufacturing group.
That would mean 9 brands owned by VW and 1 by Porsche would be put under one company.
According to VW and Porsche all 10 brands would keep their independence. That we don’t believe as there have been rumors in the past that Porsche is not too happy about Audi developing cars that could jeopardize the sales of Cayman/Boxster or 911.
Work group at the VW headquarters is working hard on details for a merger and hopes to have e future structure of the common group within the next four weeks. Stay tuned for more!
