Citroën C3 Pluriel CharlestonC3 Pluriel’s roof system is something we just don’t understand but for some reason it has sold 105,000 units since launch in 2003.

Now Citroën has produced a special version of the C3 Pluriel for the 2008 Paris Motor Show, featuring the design theme of the famous 2CV Charleston.

The Charleston, which pays homage to the 1930’s-inspired 2CV Charleston, presented in 1980.

According to Citroen, “With a blend of nostalgic and contemporary styling the C3 Pluriel Charleston should strike a chord with both 2CV fans and buyers looking for a vehicle with individual design flair.”

The Charleston version will be launched before end-2008 in France and in early-2009 in other European countries.

About the 2CV Charleston

Citroen 2CV 6 Charleston (1984)The 2CV Charleston was first presented as a special edition at the 1980 Paris Motor Show. This Art-Deco inspired version featured a Black - Red Delage color scheme with white linings.

It had styling cues from the 1930’s, including pied de poule interiors and the name, borrowed from the dance, very popular in those years.
