Panamera watch out! Four-door GT-R on the way

According to Auto Express and their sources Nissan GT-R will grow in size by getting two more doors. This supercar that laps Nürburgring faster than 911 Turbo will soon be available as a four door sedan. It will be badged as Infiniti not Nissan.

This four door super sedan will offer serious competition to the current BMW M5, Audi RS6, E63 AMG and the upcoming Porsche Panamera.

Four door GT-R gets the same 5.0-liter V8 as the Infiniti FX50 SUV, tuned to give around 420bhp not the GT-R’s twin-turbo 3.8-liter V6. 0-60 mph sprint should be around 5-seconds and a top speed of 170 mph. For comparison top of the line Panamera will get a 4.8-liter 520 hp twin turbo V8. Top speed on that car is 186 mph!

Four door GT-R will use the same four-wheel-drive chassis and twin-clutch gearbox as the GT-R coupé. However, it will have a longer wheelbase and place an emphasis on comfort and luxury rather than performance.

GT-R saloon is expected to arrive in spring 2011.
