Today VW released first details and images of the Golf GTI VI Concept. More details will follow during the Paris Motor Show next week.
The GTI concept is powered by the 2.0-liter four cylinder TSI engine producing 210 PS (207hp) – 10 PS more than the previous generation VW Golf GTI. New GTI is more efficient than the previous one with 37.6 mpg /6.36 liters per 100 km (combined). 0-62 mph (100 km/h) takes 7.2 seconds and the top speed is 148 mph (238 km/h) making it the fastest Golf GTI yet.
New Golf GTI receives Adaptive Cassis Control (ACC). GTI’s sport suspension has three ride level settings from “comfort” to “normal” and then to “sport”. First time Golf GTI features electronic limited slip differential (XDS) that is linked to Electronic Stabilisation Programme.
Production of the Golf GTI VI starts in spring 2009.
