Maserati Quattroporte GT S to debut in Detroit

Maserati has announced the debut of the all new Quattroporte GT S at this years North American International Auto Show in Detroit beginning January 11, 2009. This car is being launched to commemorate Maserati’s first win at Indianapolis 70 years ago, as well as to compete against BMW’s M-class and Mercedes’ AMG super saloons.

Maserati says that the GT S is “the ultimate expression of Maserati’s sportiness in the Quattroporte range.”

Visually different than other Quattroporte models, the GT S has a new grill trimmed in black, similar to that of the GranTurismo, body colored door handles, new headlights, and twin oval tailpipes also trimmed in black. Inside, the car gets titanium colored composite dash and door trim, as well as perforated sport leather seats. Mechanically, the 4.7 liter V8 engine pumps out an incredible 432bhp. It also offers revised software for the gearbox, stiffer springs and a lowered ride height, and a valve controlled sport exhaust system to increase the car’s sportiness. Pricing is yet to be announced for the GT S.
