Maserati GranTurismo MC Corse Concept

Yesterday we noticed that Maserati has something new coming when they had placed a message on their web site: “We are going to surprise you”.

We are not sure is this the surprise they were thinking of, but it surely is interesting as they have released first images and details of the GranTurismo MC Corse Concept.

GranTurismo MC Corse Concept is based on the 430 hp GranTurismo S. The engine has been upgraded with a new air intake system, competition-spec catalytic converters, revised airflow and a center-exit exhaust. Power increase compared to the GranTurismo S is 20 hp, boosting the total output to 450 hp.

Grip is enhanced by an increased track along with a new front splitter, a larger rear spoiler, side skirts, while the suspension has been upgraded to meet the track surface with 18×12-inch front and 18×13-inch rear wheels fitted with racing slicks. For better breaking it sports enlarged brake discs with monobloc racing calipers.

In addition the model is completed with a FIA-approved rollcage. More information on the “surprise” will be released during the Paris Motor Show next week. We believe Maserati has something bigger coming than the MC Corse Concept.
