Italian based exotics tuner UK Garage presents its latest project, Lotus Exige based Extrema. Extrema body is longer(20 cm) and wider compared to the Exige. Chassis is aluminum and buyers can choose between a carbon fiber or a kevlar carbon body.

Engines offered start from a small 2.6-liter Powertec V8 engine to LS9 that powers the new Corvette ZR1.

First three offered are Powertec V8 engines weighing just 95 kg. The least powerful is the 2.6-liter with 360 hp, then comes 2.8liter with 450 hp and a 3.4.liter with 560 hp. As the engines weigh just 96 kg the total weight of the car stays below 750 kg.

Other powerplants offered include GM’s 2.8-liter V6 turbo that pumps out either 300hp or 350hp. As the engine is heavier the car will weigh close to 850 kg.

In addition there are three Corvette powerplants offered: LS3 with 420 hp or 500 hp, LS7 with 513 hp and LS9 with 647 hp. No idea where did they get the LS9 crate engine as GM has not put it on sale yet. Even with Corvette engines the weight is kept under 1000 kg.

Extrema powered with LS9 reaches 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in just 2.8 seconds, 0-200 km/h (124 miles) in 7 seconds and the top speed is 320 km/h (198 mph). Customers can choose between a manual or a sequential transmission system.

Prices start at €66,000, UK Garages also offers street-legal conversions of the Extrema.
